Eryl D. Burnworth, 92, Nappanee, died at 1:23 a.m., Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 at Greencroft Healthcare Center, Goshen, where she had resided since April.
She was born Dec. 26, 1923 in Britton, Okla. to Ernest and Alma (Ward) Brown. She was a 1941 graduate of Huntington High School.
On Dec. 29, 1942 she married Ralph C. Burnworth. He preceded in death May 9, 2004. She was a homemaker. In 1970 Ralph and Eryl moved to Nappanee from Hastings, Mich. Eryl attended Nappanee Missionary Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading the Bible, fishing with her husband and playing cards. She also enjoyed photo albums, scrapbooking, and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey D. Burnworth, Nappanee; daughters: Linda D. (Steve) Juhasz, South Bend; Kathy J. (Paul) Clifton-Thompson, Phoenix, Ariz.; Susan A. (Tim) Morton, Warsaw; grandchildren: Andy Sheets, Joey Sheets, Wes Burnworth, Adam Burnworth, Brianne Hershberger, Scott Rouch, Daniel Rouch, Kimberly Rouch Miller, Nicole Clifton, Christopher Clifton; 16 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister, Lois A. Rankin, Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Janice Grimes, Marjorie Rodak, and Mary Sue Baker.
Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
