Menno J. Hochstetler

Menno J. Hochstetler, 89, Nappanee, died at 3:25 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Signature Healthcare, Bremen.

He was born July 16, 1927 to John C. and Sara (Borkholder) Hochstetler in Elkhart County. He was a lifetime area resident. On March 16, 1950 he married Catherine Miller in Nappanee.  Menno was a farmer, and he had worked for Holiday Rambler and Newmar.  Menno was a member of the Maranatha Fellowship.  He volunteered for M.D.S. (Mennonite Disaster Services).  Menno was a driver for American Red Cross blood drives.  He enjoyed fixing things for family.  He also enjoyed helping people both at home and through missions and mission work.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons: Harold (Pam) Hochstetler, Bremen, Larry Hochstetler, Nappanee, Alan (Jeanne) Hochstetler, Bourbon; daughters: Clara (Lazaro) Ulloa, Bremen, Marietta (Charlie) Mullet, Nappanee, Ruth (Gerry) Poole, Sarasota, FL; 15 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 17 great great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Helen Hochstetler.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Levi, Mose, Joe, Neil Hochstetler; sisters, Lizzie Harshberger, Lovina Troyer, Mary Mast, Barbara Hershberger.

Family and friends may call from 2-8 p.m., Monday, May 1 and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral services on Tuesday, May 2, all at Maranatha Fellowship (9636 W. Hepton Rd., Nappanee). Pastors Michael Peterson and Gary Kauffman will officiate.  Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Haiti Missions.
