Alma A. Kuhn

Alma A. Kuhns, 79, Milford, passed away at 11 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017 at Elkhart General Hospital, where she had been admitted on Saturday. 

Alma was born on Feb. 3, 1938 in Milford to Perry L. and Pennola (Boley) Hochstetler.  On Sept. 2, 1965 she married Otis D. Kuhns in Shipshewana.  She moved to Nappanee in 1966.  Alma was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. 

She is survived by her husband, Otis D. Kuhns, Milford; children, Wayne (Lauretta) Kuhns, Nappanee, Lavera (John) Auer, Nappanee, Rosetta Mitchell, Nappanee, Sharon (Nelson) Slabaugh, Milford, Joan Gay Kuhns, Elkhart, Lavern (Lou Ella) Kuhns, Nappanee; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Helen) Hochstetler, Topeka; sisters, Erma (Jake) Beachy, Berlin, Ohio, Katie Kelly, Florida; and sister-in-laws, Fannie Hochstetler, Goshen, Nettie Hochstetler, Shipshewana.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marlene; brothers, Emil, Lester, and Leroy Hochstetler; and a sister, Edna Gingerich.

Family and friends may call after 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017 and all day Thursday, May 18 at the family residence (3962 W. 1350 N., Milford). Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 19 at the Carlisle Hershberger residence (25559 C.R. 50).  Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Northwest Union Center Amish Cemetery.
