Kelly R. Kuhn

Kelly R. Kuhn, 51, Nappanee, died at 10:20 am, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at her residence after a three year battle with ALS.

She was born Feb. 10, 1965 in Bremen to George E. and Carol Diane (Deardorff) Stanifer.

Kelly lived her lifetime in Nappanee. She was a 1983 graduate of NorthWood High School. Her first marriage was to Lee Lawmaster, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 17, 1988, she married Ted A. Kuhn in Nappanee.

Kelly was a member of Nappanee Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She was a former Girl Scout leader. Kelly was an accomplished bowler. She bowled in leagues at the former Gold Crown Lanes in Nappanee, where she held several records, including Nappanee Women’s Association high series. She was very involved in the youth bowling leagues and was NorthWood High School  Bowling Coach for six years.

Kelly had worked at Nautic Global Group in Elkhart.

Kelly Kuhn is survived by her husband, Ted; daughters: Misty (Darrel) Troyer, Brandy Kuhn, both of Nappanee; stepdaughters: Tiffany (Mark) Batterbee, Humboldt, Tenn.; Toni (David) Kuhn – Altfeld, Alpharetta, Ga.; grandchildren: Eddie Randall, Jaxon Troyer, Danea, Trey, Preston, Dakota Batterbee, Kennedy Troyer, Chandler Martz, Bryana , Samantha Croy; twin brother, Mike (Nicole) Stanifer, Nappanee; sisters: Tina (Tracy) Heath, Amy (Scott) Nicely, both of Elkhart; Tara (Allan)VanDeeByl, London, Ontario; and Lisa (Scott) Shaver, Mishawaka.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Stanifer.

Family and friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, Oct. 8 at Nappanee Church of the Brethren.  Rev. Byrl Shaver will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the ALS Foundation.
