Nora Goss

Nora Goss, 98, Nappanee, died at 3:05 a.m., Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she had resided for 11 years.

She was born Oct. 22, 1917 in Millersburg, Ohio to Welby C. and Anna Mae (Druhut) Kurtz. On Aug. 15, 1936, she married John Irvin Goss in Plymouth. He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1975.

Mrs. Goss was a lifetime area resident, except for several years, when they lived in Minong, Wisc., their “vacation home.” She was a housewife and for many years was a caretaker of South Union Cemetery. She was a member of Northwood Chapel. Nora enjoyed gardening, especially her roses and also raised chickens.

Surviving is a brother: LeRoy (Kate) Kurtz, Middlebury.

Preceding her in death were daughters: Veora A. and Letha F., both stillborn; sisters: Fannie Wagner, Dorothy Spicher, Erma Scarles, Genevine Klase; and brother: Delbert Kurtz.

Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for one hour prior to the funeral service which will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 25 at Northwood Chapel. Rev. Larry Pletcher will officiate and burial will be in South Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Hospice or Northwood Chapel.
