Gloria Dawn Suter, 87, formerly of Nappanee, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, at Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart.
She was born June 17, 1933, in St. Joe, to Walter and Eva (King) Keesler. She lived most of her life in the Nappanee area. She was a graduate of Nappanee High School. On Dec. 21, 1952, she married Louis Suter in Miami, Fla. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2003.
Dawn was a bookkeeper and secretary and had worked in Nappanee at Coppes Kitchens, Mutschler Brothers, Nappanee Wood Products and Creative Dimensions. Most recently she had worked for Habitat for Humanity. Gloria enjoyed camping, spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards on Fridays with her friends. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Church, God’s Gals Bible Study, Thursday Club and American Legion Post 154 Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Shelly (Jack Jr.) Lengacher and Fred Suter, both of Nappanee; granddaughters, Brandie (Jon) Yoder, Wakarusa, Megan (Brent) Burnett, Indianapolis, and Kate (Carson) Ward, Atlanta, Ga.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Suter; great-grandson, Briggs Burnett; and sisters, Ruth Collins and Myra Southard.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 6, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with a funeral service following at noon. Pastor Jason Rohde will officiate and burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
