Verna Miller, 93, Bourbon, died at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family, after a short illness. Verna was born June 4, 1923 to Reuben and Fannie (Farmwald) Yoder in Nappanee. She was a lifetime area resident. On July 19, 1942 she married Irvin D. Miller in Nappanee. He preceded her in death June 16, 1990. She was a faithful pastor’s wife, homemaker, and a farmer’s wife. Mrs. Miller was a member of Clay Street Mennonite Church in Bourbon.
Surviving are her children, Janice Ruth Miller, Norman Jay Miller, John Derwin (Esther) Miller, Galen Lyle (Becky) Miller, Lynn Howard Miller, all of Bourbon, Nancy Lee (Andy) Hostetler, Etna Green, Michael Peter Miller, Warsaw; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Laura Mast, Ada Chupp, Elizabeth Stoltzfus, Alma Slabaugh, Melvin Yoder, Katie Hershberger, Mary Blucker, and Inez Stutzman.
Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m., Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21, at Sandy Ridge Mennonite Church (3085 7th Rd, Bremen). Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 22nd also at Sandy Ridge Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Berea Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery. Minister’s Wade Burkholder and Aaron Yoder, Clay Street Mennonite Church, Bourbon will officiate.
