Dean W. Price, 100, of Nappanee, passed away peacefully at 4:05 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Milford.
He was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Nappanee to Jesse and Myrtie (Michael) Price. He had resided in that home until moving to the nursing home on Sunday.
Dean lived his lifetime in Nappanee. He was a 1931 graduate of Nappanee High School. On Aug. 1, 1935, he married Sarah Elizabeth Stouder. She preceded him in death May 14, 2002.
Dean was a retired farmer. He loved farming, taking care of the animals and monitoring the production of the crops. The family farm where he had lived was established in 1853. Dean was a lifetime member of Union Center Church of the Brethren. He had a very strong faith and deeply loved his family.
Surviving are daughters: Maribeth (Rod) Stump, Nappanee; Linda (Roger) Penrose, Centerville, Mich.; a son: Stephen (Kathy) Price, Nappanee; grandchildren: Amy ( Bruce) Coleman, Brad (Lisa ) Price; Rod (Patty) Stump Jr., Andrew (Brigette) Stump; nine great grandchildren: Krystin (Luke) Mills, Zachary Coleman, Dylon Price, Kaley Price, Daric (Amanda) Stump, Joshua (Morgan) Stump, Kaitlyn Stump, Grant Stump, Sarah Stump; great-great-grandchildren: Titus Mills and London Marie Stump.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Fern Shoemaker; and brothers: Ted and his twin, Don Price.
Family and friends may call from 3-7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service, Monday, October 20, 2014. Rev. Frank Ramirez will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
